Great editorial from The Washington Post focused on our region’s incredible storm response. Our true heroes are our field crews who worked tirelessly to restore power to 90% of our customers in just 24 hours after the storm hit. Pepco’s year-round investment in reliability was equally crucial in ensuring a swift and safe restoration effort. Measures like tree-resistant ariel cables, undergrounding power lines and installing reclosures to isolate damage have reduced the frequency of power outages in D.C. by nearly 60% over the past decade. As we continue to face more volatile and devastating weather events, these investments will become a more essential part of our region’s recovery.https://lnkd.in/eyaH2KrT

🔥 AGUANGA, CA Wildfire Update 🔥The Bonny Fire's unrelenting path through Riverside County is a stark reminder of the importance of wildfire preparedness for all of us. As the blaze spreads, it should serve as a warning sign to take proactive measures to safeguard our homes and communities from the threat of wildfires. With over 2,200 acres already consumed by the flames and the unpredictable nature of these fires, it's evident that being prepared can significantly mitigate potential damage. We commend the tireless efforts of our brave firefighters, and we must also recognize that they are facing an uphill battle in the face of rugged terrain and erratic weather conditions. Now more than ever, we must take the necessary steps to protect our homes and loved ones. Simple actions like creating defensible space around our properties, clearing away dry vegetation, installing ember-resistant vents, and maintaining fire-resistant roofing and siding can significantly increase our chances of preventing wildfire destruction.Let us use this alarming situation as a call to action. Take the time to assess your property's wildfire preparedness with Allied Disaster Defense. Share this critical information with your neighbors, friends, and family, encouraging them to do the same.In the face of this ongoing wildfire crisis, we must unite as a community to protect what matters most.
