Here's a super easy shortcut to making restaurant style Chicken and Waffles at home.

Chicken and Waffles: A Decidedly Delicious Combo

Chicken and waffles is indeed an unexpected combo but one that should not be questioned! It's a marriage that just makes sense and one that's built to last. Salty. Sweet. Crispy. Fluffy. Opposites attracting in all the right ways right here. A strong coupling of two of America's favorite foods: Crispy chicken and hot-off-the-iron waffles.

What I'm about to tell you though, is what's really going to make you smile. See that delicious plate of food above? You can make that. In like, 20 minutes. In your own kitchen. I did. And you can too! 🙂

Making homemade chicken and waffles for a crowd?

If you're planning to serve a lot of guests at once, I would recommend making the waffles ahead of time and slightly under-cooking them. Wrap them in plastic wrap to store and then unwrap and toast them right before serving. (You may need a toaster oven for Belgian style waffles since they are thick. If you don't own one (Why not???), check out this one.)

The Ultimate Brunch Food

OK, let your eyes drift back up to those photos. Munch on some chicken with your eyeballs, then look to your right. Do you see that delicious little pink co*cktail calling your name? This. This is why brunch will always be better than breakfast. Or any other meal for that matter. You know exactly why. Don't pretend like you don't. 😉 It's because brunch not only makes it perfectly OK to consume alcohol prior to noon, it's actually considered classy. Whoever thought up brunch is truly a social genius, right?

Why brunch is better than breakfast?

One word: co*cktails. I've been really excited to share this brunch recipe because it's a two-for-one deal. The co*cktail pictured here is its own little recipe creation made using Hidden Spirits bottled co*cktail and a splash of cranberry juice. Garnish with a lemon slice and it's better know as a Lemon Breeze. The new best friend of chicken and waffles. I want to give a shout out to Hidden Spirits co*cktails for challenging me to create this little brunch series as a part of the launch of their new beverage.
