3-Day Fort Lauderdale Itinerary (2024)

For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Las Olas Beach, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Outdoor Activities

Las Olas Beach is a public beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It offers white sand and palm trees, as well as restaurants, lodging, and stores. The beach is known for its untamed natural beauty and is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing.

Las Olas Beach is definitely a very nice beach. It looks clean and well maintained. There is a workout area, basketball court and volleyball nets. Enjoyed walking along the hotel and restaurant strip that oversees the beach. Even enjoyed a drink at 411 South Bar & Grill.

Lots of parking options some lots are costlier than others so my advice is to dig around a little before you go to find the best spot and hourly rate for you. Once there it is a blast! There’s tons of restaurants with ocean views to enjoy. Lots of people. Beautiful ocean. Shopping! The energy is great. You’ll definitely have a fun time here!

Jenni Sosnow Realtor — Google review

It’s a beautiful beach to visit. Place is nice and clean. I don’t know if it was because of the New Years celebration but there was an abundance of police officers visible which gave the feeling of safety. Water looks great also, unlike some of the other beaches I’ve visited in South Florida.

One Tryon — Google review

Very cool beach and my first experience visiting a Fort Lauderdale beach. Only negative was that it is quite crowded on the beachfront - at least on a Saturday in December.

Kingdom Marketing Solutions — Google review

Very beautiful and well maintained beach, a good variety of restaurants around, beautiful people! Perfect environment for both enjoying and relaxing! Recommend for everyone! Don't be surprised by the price of parking, everything good has its price!

Peter G — Google review

Could be better but the we have no control of the ocean water lol needs clean up if brown weeds along the shore, sand as not as nice as the west coast or in the Caribbean. But better than no beach, so enjoy the atmosphere.

Anthony Morales — Google review

You can enjoy the beach, parking in good price, the beach is clean, you can see lifesavers and police, take a bike for a ride, concerts and good food.

Gabby Dominguez — Google review

Heard the Christmas lights were beautiful, there weren’t any besides a handful of palms! Shops not even decorated. The famous sandman was gone and there was construction everywhere blocking the majority of the sidewalk. Not impressed.

J. August — Google review

So far this is one of the places I enjoy the most. Any day, any purpose, any time of the year. The boulevard is great for a morning walking or running. The beautiful view, the music, the people, the service on every restaurant and the local stores make this place really enjoyable. The beach is great, warm, and beautiful, but very busy too. There is choice for renting chairs, plenty of restaurants, with a great variety of food. The service in this area is excellent. They have a high affluence during the whole year and therefore they are highly trainned to delivery the best service. Parking is available for a quote, somehow hard to find on weekends or busy time, but possible and completely worth it. Overall is an excellent place, on my opinion a great choice for a family time.

Shirley Perez Anel — Google review

This is a really a nice play to go with friends and family, fortunately you don’t have to smell ilegal drugs like other beaches in Miami. There are good activities like jogging, swimming (sand is clean), exercise, walk and sightseeing. Also there are good restaurants with good prices.Only one thing to pay attention: pay your parking side on machines or on your mobile because there is a man who put fees really fast like I saw that day.Enjoy!

Cesar Alejandro Sosa Martinez — Google review

Plenty of parking, make sure you pay for enough parking time. Because people are ready to give tickets. There is showers to rinse out and restrooms to change. There is a restaurant and a pier in this beach. Pay $2 to get in pier and get a nice view of the beach. There is a lot of seaweed, its mother nature doing its thing.

Beautiful beach with a lot of entertainment. Many nice restaurants and bars , shops. It’s peaceful and kid’s friendly

Mayumi Ozaki Todd (尾崎真由美) — Google review

Swimable and plrasent beach. Not crowded at all during our week on vacation. Mostly clean beach with trash cans spced pretty often. Lifeguard huts every 1k+ feet with active lifeguard on duty. Had plenty of picnic tables with grills. Bring your charcoal. Public restrooms and shower spaces to rinse off sand. You have a couple of options when it comes to 'Pay to Park'. No semi or tall vehicles because clearance for one way to exiting park is 9' height due to a bridge. Would have given 5 🌟 if bathrooms remained open. The city is putting bars up on functioning bathrooms and bringing in portable toilets.

Nestled against the backdrop of pristine white sands, this beach offers convenient access with ample paid parking nearby. The ambiance is further enhanced by an array of inviting bars, creating a relaxed atmosphere for visitors. The shoreline buzzes with various beach activities, catering to diverse preferences. Entrance is free, and complimentary shower stations are scattered across the area, enhancing the overall convenience and comfort for beachgoers. Love it! Enjoy your time here!!

Beautiful beach but ruined by homeless and discharged addiction patients on the way to ⛱️ beache and on beache...they don't do anything to you but kinda uncomfortable...on the beach found Portuguese a war ...

Las Olas Beach is truly a haven for those seeking relaxation, unwinding, and a dose of fantastic entertainment. The golden sands and azure waters provide the perfect backdrop for a serene day of sunbathing or leisurely strolls along the shore. What sets Las Olas Beach apart is the array of options it offers to enjoy some refreshing drinks. From quaint beachside bars serving up tropical co*cktails to trendy cafes with artisanal coffees, you'll find a drink to suit every palate. Sipping your favorite beverage while listening to the gentle waves is pure bliss. The entertainment scene here is top-notch. Live music performances on weekends add a vibrant touch to the atmosphere. Whether it's a local band strumming acoustic tunes or a DJ spinning the latest hits, there's always something to groove to. The beach also hosts occasional events and festivals that bring the community together for an unforgettable time. Moreover, Las Olas Beach is thoughtfully designed with ample seating areas, making it easy to unwind in comfort. Lounging under the swaying palm trees, you can let your worries melt away. The friendly atmosphere and welcoming locals only enhance the overall experience. In conclusion, Las Olas Beach is a hidden gem for anyone seeking a relaxing escape, a chance to unwind, and a delightful blend of drinks and entertainment. It's a slice of paradise where you can soak up the sun, sip on your favorite beverages, and revel in the coastal ambiance. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, this beach promises a memorable retreat.

This iconic beach bar located on Fort Lauderdale's famed beachfront has been entertaining locals and tourists for over 70 years with its live music, drinks, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Elbo Room is often considered one of the oldest dive bars in the world, and it remains an essential stop on any trip to this glamorous resort town.

What a blast!! The music LIVE was fun engaging, familiar! The service was awesome!! They took orders quickly if they had a lull they cane to tables and cleaned !! Fun time fantastic spot across from beach

A staple if not THE staple of Ft. Lauderdale beach history. It's been around a very long time. Cool and chill place to go and have some drinks and people watch! Oh the things you'll see while hanging out here. It can definitely get rowdy, so sit back and enjoy the show.It has great views from the second floor terrace. It has a nice fun little dance floor. The drinks are well made and the bartenders are on it!

Stopped by to have a drink and revisit a place I haven't been to since I graduated in 1981! Hasn't changed... hahaha...Large outdoor seating area ample room inside. Live bands. Bathrooms could use a good scrubbing but it is a bar for the young folk! Brought back some good memories!

When it’s the self proclaimed “world famous” Elbo Room you’ve got to visit at least once, right. Well once for me is good. Perpetually busy with a mix of the old white crowd, tourists and dive bar devotees, this place is loud noisy and difficult to get the attention of a bartender at the busy bars. People say the drinks are cheap but while $5.50 for a draft beer sounds good it comes in an 8 oz plastic cup meaning (if you do the math) it’s $11 a pint or basically what everyone else is charging. Another one and done place for me.

Eddie Kubo — Google review

Great place right on the beach, or across street actually. They have downstairs and upstairs and patio. All really good it was super busy on memorial day weekend. Music pretty loud with live band which they were good as well, but we chose downstairs patio so we could chat, relax and watch all the people walk by. Met some great folks, drank some great drinks, and enjoyed. FYI Be AWARE this is a Cash Only bar! Nope, no credit cards, I already knew what you were gonna ask! CASH ONLY

James Jameson — Google review

It's a fun place to grab a beer and people watch. Live music all the time and upstairs is a plus. Prices are typical $6-7 for a beer. It's usually a mixed crowd older/younger but after 10pm it gets more on the younger side. I've been there many, many times and rarely, if ever any jerks or trouble makers. Good vibes.

Cool My Air — Google review

Great place to find reasonably priced drinks. Live band. Great dance floor upstairs. Good bar snacks. Friendly bartenders. Great location near the beach. What else could you ask for? Highly recommended.

If I can, I give the facility a zero. Discriminate,l policy. we were going to enjoy ourselves, and then told we could not reenter when entering from the sidewalk. Just skated against on elbow from reentry

The last of a dying breed this place is incredible a kind of rock cafe cum surface hut combine cause hangout it's incredible and adult place but something for everyone the beers are fantastic and free flowing and the music is just brilliant it's spit abd sawdust but done the right way. Show expect any airs and graces this is simple straightforward drinking and music

Easily the best bar in Fort Lauderdale and it’s the only place we have to hit every year when we come down. The bartenders are always amazing here. It gets me every time how much I love the staff and the entire vibe of this bar. Take care of the bartenders and they will take care of you.Good live music, fantastic staff, moderately priced booze all adds up to a damn good time.10/10, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Ok bar to grab a beer and listen to some rock, country music, located across from fort Lauderdale beach. Nice location an view. Cash only and not food available

Last year my wife and her friends came here. The owners allowed their bouncers to drink and party here while off.. This said bouncer was feeding my wife drinks, and possibly drugged her until drunk and or drugged. That's when he started taking advantage of her sticking his hand up her skirt and trying to carry her out. Thank God her friends were there, they literally had to carry her out and away from him. I called received no response. I wrote on their FB messenger, opened but no response. Beware if you are a woman, all I have to say. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence. And if this gets to the owners? Check your Facebook messages. If they are deleted I'll gladly send you everything.

Had an amazing nice there!! It was a fun crowd, amazing band. A good hole in the wall beach bar that makes you feel right at home.

Very crowded landmark bar. Young atmosphere, cash only. Some bar stools which are hard to get. Upstairs was closed so didn't experience it. One bartender for a long bar. It's an experience. No food downstairs, don't know if the serve food

John Nation — Google review

Great location, live music, loud crowd but don't think the owners have ever reinvested one dime back in to the property which is disappointing. My first visit to the Elbo Room was in 1994.

Shopping mall

Shopping

The Beach Place shopping mall is located in front of the ocean and has a number of restaurants, bars, and a hotel attached. It is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

This beach is amazing!!! You can park in the hotel parking lot for a reasonable price!!! Rent the Cabanas for a good price, but you have to get there by 9am. They have food all around the beach and a liquor store. Best part was the Pina Colada!!!

Jay Mula — Google review

The parking lot here is a bit treacherous but it is a great location. Good nightlife, a convenient CVS, good beach food choices, and for us a well placed Crocs store when a sandal broke. Fantastic place to start exploring from.

Joe Steele — Google review

Great hotel right on Fort Lauderdale beach. Rooms were nice and clean. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Two issues with the hotel I found were that there are a total of 4 elevators that service the hotel and the parking below. This includes the public parking. So it can be a wait for an elevator. The second is the parking lot is the best so pay attention and be prepared to park in tight spots.

Todd Mushovic — Google review

4 stars for mediocrity; nothing luxurious or special about the accommodations. Provided that Marriott is in the name, I would expect more in terms of overall aesthetics. The building itself is fairly run down and poorly remodeled/kept up. The views are amazing and the location is ideal for being close to everything beachside. Not worth the nightly rate in my opinion but with a vacation club incentive deal, definitely worth it.

Hotel

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel is a luxurious 5-star property situated on the beach. It has an on-site spa with various treatments available, as well as a fitness center and stunning ocean views.

My toddler has barely slept for the last 3 nights, and she finally slept like a rock in this resort's bed.... 😉 if that doesn't speak volumes about their beds, I don't know what will!Amazing customer service as well! Such a stunning lobby and the floral arrangement taller than me was a feast for my eyes!

B Norris — Google review

Brought the family here for winter break. The staff and their service really make all the difference. It was very busy due to the holiday week but everyone was very accommodating. The pool staff were exceptional. Especially Blanca. Big smiles with warm welcomes. We were sad to have to leave.

Sean Rogge — Google review

Stayed here with my wife and kids and we loved it! The staff was top notch, the rooms were clean (room service twice a day if needed), and the hotel was fantastic! My kids loved the pool! It was breezy there, but when it's 80 degrees + the breeze felt so nice! The beach access was so close and easy to get to! We would surely come here again! I think my only complaint would be that it is valet parking only and it is a steep $55 a day.

Joshua Evans — Google review

My only suggestion is that the Gold member credit was consistent across ALL Hilton properties. Other than that, this hotel was amazing! The staff was amazing! We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this hotel. Not a single meal disappointed us. The Takato restaurant is AMAZING! Also, the menu on the beach is phenomenal. I would definitely stay here again.

Aisha Bair — Google review

Let me first say that the staff at the Conrad Ft. Lauderdale Beach are very kind, sincere, and helpful, and the location is very nice. This was my second time at this hotel, and obviously, I enjoyed my first stay well enough to come back. I went to check in, and my room wasn't ready, so my wife and I went up to grab lunch at Spinnakers by the pool. The food there is good but not unexpectedly it is quite expensive. After lunch, the room was ready, and we got an unexpected upgrade from oceanfront suite to an oceanfront residence. The room was large and had a good view. For the most part, everything went well during our stay, and they even brought us an anniversary cupcake to celebrate 19 years since the day my wife and I met. Then, on the night before we were leaving, things went south. We ordered room service and were eating our food in the living room area when all of a sudden, a GIANT co*ckroach came out from under the couch. Our appetite was ruined, so we didn't eat the rest of our very expensive food, and we were extremely grossed out the rest of the stay. Management offered to add another $50 food and beverage credit to our stay, but that discount never came off of our final invoice. All in all, we waisted over $120 worth of room service and never even got a true apology from anyone, let alone any compensation. I'd like to give this hotel 5 stars, but I just can't bring myself to recommend this place to anyone after what happened to us.

Timothy Wood — Google review

This used to be fine running hotel however in the last 2 years things have changed. Employees are less friendly, services are more expensive and the noise level from the street has increased substantially. The last 2 times I stayed here, my room did not get ready until well past 4 PM. This is not acceptable when a suite that used to be $900/night is now going for $2000/night. I spoke to management later and they were very understanding

I have travelled all over the world, and my latest stay at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale beach was truly exceptional and probably the best experience I have ever had at any hotel & resort in the world. The rooms are impressive, clean comfortable, modern and elegant. The hotel property is beautiful and well manicured. The food, restaurants and drinks are all delicious. The Pool and Beach are clean and pristine. The hotel has so much to offer!A sincere THANK YOU to Clemuel Q., Doris F., and Patricia C. for the best experience I have ever had at any hotel and resort I've ever stayed at. From the Champagne toast on my Birthday, fresh fruit, and hand drawn Birthday card!! (Thank you Doris!). To the exceptional customer experience received from Nainesh, and the entire team at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, this will always remain a truly memorable vacation to me. All of these staff members deserve the recognition, highest praise, and bonuses for their exceptional work and wonderful customer experience. Thank you once again, I truly look forward to my next stay at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach.

On last day, despite confirming with the front desk in-person that we could check out at 1 p.m. around 11 a.m. when we were enjoying an in-room brunch. A staff member called and insisted we immediately vacate our room, threatening a $150 late fee. very arrogant and unfriendly, her words are: "leave the room immediately or we will charge the fee, there is no late check out for you". This unexpected demand contradicted our initial agreement. We spent a lot on reserving a luxurious 1B1Bsuite for our stay. Regrettably, this unanticipated interruption significantly dampened our final morning in Fort Lauderdale, and it left us with a strong impression of their low service quality.*PLUS:We are Dimond Member and booked 1B suite,we are treated like this. If you are not a member and plan to book a regular room, will you receive better service? ?there are many luxury hotels with good service nearby, RUN!!!!!*

I usually went to Miami area and it was my first time to visit Fort Lauderdale.Location is awesome. Beach is better than Miami. The room is big enough, clean, and has everything. Staffs are very friendly. The pool has enough size and the Jacuzzi is hot enough.

this place became very run down and very disappointing service and bad old mold smell in the rooms .we had booked and paid for 3 days for ocean view but when we arrived there was no ocean view available so they talked us in to staying one night in the intercoastal back of hotel room and then offered for a 50$ fee to change room next day but the room never got available so we decided o leave the hotel and leave . upon checking out they would not issue a refund and charged us for the full stay 2844 plus 45 a day fee for? if you read this know you have been warned the have lots of hidden fees and room types .

Moses Landau — Google review

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a short weekend trip. Overall the stay was nice enough but probably not worth the cash price of $900/night, thankfully I used points or we'd have stayed elsewhere. Even at ~$350/night which it can be priced at during slower times I'd rather stay at the Hilton two doors down but we wanted to give the Conrad a try.I had to book two stays due to a certificate I was using and then points, I emailed and asked to have them noted so that we wouldn't have to moved rooms. The Director of Revenue Management emailed me back and told me she noted everything but when I got there the guy at the check in counter told me he wasn't sure if we'd get the same room or not and may have to come check out and back in. After a little wait he was able to make sure we didn't have to change rooms or stop back at the front desk which was nice.Overall the room was really nice, the view of the ocean was great. The kitchenette was big enough if we wanted to cook something we could but the number of plates and stuff was limited and we got a small thing of dish soap. The room also only had small trashcans, but again if you're cooking a bigger one or at least a bag may be needed. The bathroom looked great but wasn't as 'functional' as you'd expect. The water pressure did not work right when you ran more than one thing, any of the bath, sinks or shower running would render the rest pretty much useless. The water also was a bit concerning as there was hardly any cold or even room temperature water coming out, if you wanted to take a bath scolding was the only temperature and good luck letting the water cool off because the drain wasn't sealed right and continually let water out.You could also hear noise from the other room when people shut doors and also in the hallway. Then both days housekeeping came and knocked asking if we needed any fresh linens or anything which is nice, don't get me wrong but when guests are trying to sleep it's probably best to have the front desk call the night before or just clean the room at check out. At check out the lady mentioned we hadn't used our breakfast credits due to my status with them. I mentioned we had to catch a flight so we couldn't use it and she offered us water. This was a nice touch but maybe the hotel should offer this the night before and have room service sent in the morning since some people forget. The beach in front of the hotel was really nice and quiet, definitely different than a mile away on Las Olas where spring breakers were going crazy. The beach had free umbrellas, chairs and towels which is a definite perk. The last part I wanted to mention is about the valet. Overall it wasn't the worst but we waited 20+ minutes after calling for our car and this was at slow times. The guy in the throughfare was not directing any traffic and loved to talk at times which doesn't help because the circle is super tiny.Overall though these are just some frustrations. As noted above if I had to stay here again I would but I was not wowed enough to choose this over the Hilton if given a choice.

Great Hotel! We were in town for a few days and as soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the front door receptionist with a smile and exemplary service! The rooms were huge and very clean. I definitely recommend this hotel, 10/10 in every aspect, Thanks for the amazing hospitality @ Conrad

Oscar Abreu — Google review

Just like other Conrad properties, this one doesn't disappoint. Just a phenomenal resort. It is expensive; however, it's very much worth it. They've thought out how to make every aspect of your stay comfortable. For example, even at the valet you have bottled water available. The accessibility to the beach is amazing. The food at Takato and Cornucopia were both very good and the service matched the quality of food. 10/10 recommend it. We will stay here again.

Beach

The beach at Fort Lauderdale is one of the most popular in the United States. It has miles of sandy oceanfront featuring water sports and a promenade, as well as access to shopping and dining.

I was visiting family and working during the week and on Friday decided to visit the beach to unwind and enjoy the sea. The shoreline was clean and so was the water- perfect! The afternoon sun provided the perfect heat to relax, capping off my mini holiday week while in Florida. If you visit in the week as oppose to weekend, it’s best because it’s less crowded and parking is easier to find. Definite must visit if you’re in the area and looking for some r&r time along the water.

Izod Man — Google review

A wonderful beach - much more family friendly than some of the beaches further south. There are plenty of palm trees that offer shade as well. Sometimes there is a strong southern current, so be careful with small children.

Collin Myers — Google review

The central beach for this section of ocean front. Personally I enjoyed my time here in the off season. Could see spending a long time here, with picnic tables & grills, volleyball nets and more.Just spent some time walking on the beach and caught a sunrise, even though it was cloudy.A great destination especially during busy seasons!

A great coastline and a little more low key than the Miami area…at least based on my experience. Plenty of resorts and food options all along the beach. The sand/beach was not the cleanest I’ve ever experienced…take care of the beaches please!! Otherwise very nice.

Title: "A Serene Slice of Paradise - Fort Lauderdale Beach"Review:Visiting Fort Lauderdale Beach during my brief stopover in Florida was an utterly unforgettable experience. The beach, Set against a splendid summer day backdrop, appeared as an idyllic oasis far from the madding crowds, with its serene surroundings and inviting ambiance. As I stepped onto the beach, my feet sank into the soft, white sand, warming my soles with a comforting embrace. The sand was welcoming, perfect for constructing dreamy sand castles or lying back to bask in the glorious Florida sun.The ocean was equally magnificent. A stunningly beautiful tableau of clear, blue water stretched across the horizon, its tranquil waves lapping at the shoreline. As I took a brief dip, I was embraced by the water's soothing warmth and invigorating freshness. Swimming in this crystal-clear ocean was invigorating and relaxing, perfect for a soul-soothing retreat. The beach was a hub of numerous activities catering to different interests. From swimming to sunbathing, surfing to paddleboarding, and even kayaking - Fort Lauderdale Beach was a playground for those seeking adventure and relaxation. The sight of various beachgoers engaging in these activities added to the lively yet peaceful beach atmosphere. The thoughtful amenities added immensely to the experience. Showers, restrooms, and playgrounds were conveniently located along the beach parks, while various shops, restaurants, and bars were just a stone's throw away across the street. Although my time there was limited, it was evident that this place had much more to offer, promising endless entertainment and relaxation. My visit to Fort Lauderdale Beach was nothing short of magical. After spending a few hours under the Florida sun, I was left with a beautiful tan - a testament to my incredible time there. It was a remarkable experience that filled my heart with peace and my mind with beautiful memories. It urged me to revisit this sanctuary of tranquility soon.If you're looking for a destination that offers tranquility and a range of engaging activities, look no further than Fort Lauderdale Beach. It's a slice of paradise that will leave you yearning for more!

Fort Lauderdale Beach offers a fantastic seaside experience with vibrant pubs and restaurants lining the opposite road, adding to the lively atmosphere. Enjoying your own food is a plus, but it's crucial to practice responsible eating and waste disposal. However, the parking situation poses a significant challenge, often taking hours to find a spot due to one-way traffic on the road. Despite the parking struggle, the beach itself provides a great environment to unwind and "you're not wrong if you bring friends" (YNWIBF). If you can navigate the parking hurdles, it's a highly recommended spot for relaxation and socializing.

Just a very clean and very quiet beach (Oct visit). Water was still warm and there are multiple places to rent chairs and umbrellas. The sand is perfect with lots of patrols up and down the beach. Plenty of places to wash the sand off of your feet and not overly saturated with unhoused individuals.

Beautiful beach right on the strip of Fort Lauderdale Bvld. So many restaurants and fun! Cheers to this beautiful clean beach!

Great warm beaches, friendly people. Good food and great atmosphere. I love the downtown area it's very festive and bright. They had a concert in the OLas Park they were playing Christmas music. Then we went over to one of the restaurants and had dinner. We walked along the white sandy beaches, we love Ft. Lauderdale. Looks like the city of getting a good well needed face lift over near the cruise pier. Lots of construction going on over there. I can't wait to come back this winter to see what's changed. Walk along the beach side and check out some of the fine restaurants with different foods for all kinds of tastes .

My piece of heaven 💙There are indeed many beautiful beaches in the world but Fort Lauderdale is very unique. It is a “city” beach that manages to feel vibrant and tranquil at the same time. You can enjoy a laid-back lifestyle or a very active one. Your choice 😊Full of dining options and the right mix of locals and visitors.

Beautiful beaches!! It is so clean due weekly beach clean events. They are volleyball courts and amazing restaurants nearby.

Great beach gets busy during the month of March being spring break so that's a good month to steer clear. After that it is a great time to come down. City does a great job of cleaning up the beach. There's the swimming hall of fame down here with a great masters program if you're into swimming. Towards the northern end you have hugh Taylor state park. Great place to park and pay less for parking than in the city parking. You can park at the state park and walk across the 1 to the beach. Further down north you have spuds coffee amazing coffee and food all day highly recommend.

Stunning beach with beautiful clear water. I've seen some of the most beautiful sunrises there. I recommend taking goggles/ mask so you can see some of the adorable fishies even in shallow waters.

cheri favel — Google review

Beautiful beach with awesome views during the Fort Lauderdale airshow! It was very clean, with plenty of trashcans. There are restroom and shower facilities nearby as well. All up and down the beach there are restaurant options just across the street if you want to get something to eat. You'll also sometimes find food trucks and other vendors as well.During the airshow it was very crowded, but there was enough room even with the large crowds to spread out have your own personal space. The only minor complaint I have is parking. When it isn't busy, it isn't an issue. But when it is, parking can be somewhat hard to find and traffic can be a little tight. Parking rates are reasonable though, and most times it isn't hard to find a spot. I can't wait to come back!

The Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is a beautiful historic site in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The property features an art-filled interior and lush gardens, as well as tours that allow visitors to learn about the house's fascinating history.

I visited on a sunny weekday in mid May. The place was not crowded. The staff members were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed visiting each room, seeing the artwork, fountain and grounds. The orchids were lovely. I also enjoyed cooling off with an ice cream treat at the end of the tour.

Interesting story of this family's history. Not a swanky residence, it wasn't intended to be. A winter home designed for these creative souls. Nice walk of the grounds. A beautiful setting for events. Recommended if you're in the area. See what 19th, early 20th century life was like. Built based on the owners concept by the owner and helpers.

We did not get to see the whole "house" part. I understand that the docents are excited to impart their knowledge to the people visiting, but they should also read their customers better. I only wanted to look at the art. I don't need explanations and I really don't need someone following us into a room and then outside and down the walkway. It was really uncomfortable. How do you tell someone who works there to back off? Finally, it was 25 dollars per person, for a maybe 15 minute visit. We were there about an hour to "get our money's worth" but it was really over priced. The start the self.guided (supposedly) tour with a painfully boring video. We left before it was over. We just wanted to tour the house! Would not revisit.

The Bonnet House is lovely, but the guides stationed in the adjourning areas throughout the house made the visit incredibly divine. I loved the historical touches they provided to the background of the premises, and the information was something that I would have missed, and I did not do my research! I was most fascinated with the bouquets being made of seashells and the mirrors weighing 700 pounds! I also loved the wild iguanas running all over the place. What a treat to have seen such a beautiful and fascinating place! Thank you, everyone, for your sweet hospitality today!!!

As a Florida resident for over 40 years, I have always wanted to explore the Bonnet house. Well I finally got there with some friends visiting from out of town and out of the country! It did not disappoint, the docents were pleasant and knowledgeable, there's plenty of parking and golf cart shuttles to get you around the property. The artwork and core created by the owners is very impressive and everything has a story! It's a wonderful step back into Old Florida as well as exploring the family's interest in art and decoration.

Came here on Jan, there was no flowers at all.The garden looked extremely plain, the house had spider map on the windows. It doesn't worth $20 per person. On the bright side, I managed to take some nice pictures.

Eliza Knight — Google review

The house and garden are very beautiful! The staff was very kind and helpful. Tickets for adults are $20. The only thing that could be improved is I thought the video explaining the history of the house was a little too long.

Such a must-see visit. What a nice expérience to see this property untouched - or almost - hidden among the middle of skyscrapers in Fort Lauderdale. Such an insight into the lives of the riches from the early 20th century and lovely pieces of art.The garden is incredible, and everyone working there is very passionate about the estate's history. This is often used for weddings and I can see why.

Leah Allegoria — Google review

Beyond excellent customer service, amazing architecture, beautiful gardens, so much nature, informative video, reasonable prices ($10 to walk around, $25 to see it all), and the art work.. you have to come see this huge hidden gem. So much history and elegance. I can not wait to come back and see more. With the little time I had it was hard to fully see and #enjoy it all but what I did see made me so grateful for the opportunity and happy to be an American. When you come you will see why. You’re welcome. PS: a huge shout out to Ron, Andrea, and the gulf cart driver (I hate it that I didn’t get his name 🥹) for their patience and willingness to share with us the back story to this jewel. We appreciate each of you and hope others will too.

We hosted our Wedding at the Bonnet House which was an absolutely gorgeous setting for a perfect evening. David and the staff are exceptional and very accommodating - especially for us being out-of-towners. The property itself is beautiful preserving south Florida’s natural beauty which is what we really enjoyed about the property. The house captures a whimsical vibe from an older period of time which is inspiring by how much character went into the home as you walk around. We especially enjoyed relaxing (and dining) on the veranda overlooking the palm tree lined pond. Our guests were all amazed (one artsy guest even gifted us a pillow of the property to make it extra special for us). We really enjoyed the opportunity to host our wedding here.

This is an amazing historical place. The first house on Fort Lauderdale Beach. A must see. You should definitely take the tour and hopefully your guide will be Sid. He was full of knowledge and had some interesting anecdotes to share with our group. Don't just go to the restaurants and the beach, make sure you pay a visit to this magical house. If you love art, you will love this place.

The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens is a treasure. I was blown away visiting this lush and beautiful 35 - acre subtropical estate. The tour was educational, informative and historical. I am eager to learn more by reading Bonnet House: a Legacy of Artistry and Elegance because I found the owner's history fascinating. The House has delightful decorative elements in each room and the courtyard is serene and stunning. It was not crowded on a Sunday in September. They have it lit up for Christmas for several nights in December, and they hold concerts outside Jan - March. I can't wait to go back !

The Bonnet House Museum is a truly wonderful piece/place of 1900's Ft. Lauderdale and expanded history. If you have a pleasant day, temperature wise, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful house and grounds. The house is breathtaking and the surrounding grounds are even more incredible! The staff are remarkably friendly and accommodating...and everywhere if you have a question. They are also very knowledgeable and if they don't know the answer to a history to a particular area/item they will find out for you. This is also a wonderful place for a wedding and after reception...not to mention you are close to the beach and many beautiful places to stay afterwards! They do offer rides around certain areas which is helpful if you have any walking issues...there is a lot of walking to do, so much to see! They have free parking on site so you don't have to pay for parking like outside the residence. And they do have closer handicapped parking towards the entrance to the visitor's/reception area...but it's still a bit of a walk. There's lots of shade but on a real warm humid day it could be rough...so dress lite and breezy. It costs $25 per adult...not sure if kids are less. It's so worth an afternoon, but just remember to check the website for hours of operation, Friday was 11am to 3pm.Be safe all.

Awesome historical site. Beautiful to walk around and see. This is an artists history of his individual family. Our problems that it was so expensive, yet most of it was closed down and for what it was, it wasn't worth it to pay to get into the house. Neat to see, worth it once, but probably won't return...

Fascinating place!Fred, our informative guide, was knowledgeable and accommodating. (I took many pictures and some videos and did not feel rushed.)The grounds and gardens of Bonnet House are lush and peaceful. The house is unique; its rooms are scattered among several buildings. Each room, building and veranda are decorated inside and out by the world-traveling owner and his wife. Both loved shells. Their impressive Shell Museum holds shells from around the world. The caretaker"s house is a trip back in time, with its Singer foot-pedal sewing machine. galvanized tub with ringer washing "machine", and wooden ironing board. There is a well-done video of the house's history. The rooms are air-conditioned. The gift shop has a nice assortment of quality items, and the Café offers fresh sandwiches, drinks, and ice cream. The $25 self-guided QR codes tour admission fee sounded a bit steep at first. Then, the welcome center person showed a map of the estate. Seeing how vast the property was, I opted for the guided tour admission fee ($30) and was not disappointed. It was 2-3 hours well-spent!

Beautiful preserved place to go! Tickets are $25 but if you are local you get a discount. They are working on property at the moment but you can still go and see the main house and some more places. This is definitely a way to go for a date or just to do something different

The Bonnet House Museum is a gem located near the beach in Fort Lauderdale that is not to be missed. The beautiful mansion and grounds are in the middle of a busy city but you would never know it while you were there. The grounds are exquisite with lots of palm trees, foliage, and animals. It is entirely worth it to pay extra to see the host. Designed and constructed by an artist using local materials, it is truly one of the most unique houses I have ever seen. It's beautiful and well worth the price. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! Bonus: It has free parking.

Brett Skipper — Google review

Great visit to the Bonnet House. 25 bucks for a house and grounds ticket and it's worth it. The house isn't as big as you think of some of these old historic mansions, it was a cool summer home for some rich people who loved art. Grounds are preserved well with varied plants and ponds and place does host events such as weddings! Kids were taking field trips and learning about the plants and ecosystem. Volunteers are very nice and knowledgeable and has free wifi so that you can take the virtual self guided tour. About a two hour visit if you take your time.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bonnet House in Florida, and it was a truly delightful experience. The location, nestled right at the beach, is not only beautiful but also incredibly inspiring. The house, once owned by an American artist who studied in Munich and had a deep love for nature, art, and music, radiates creativity and history. What made the visit even more enjoyable was the warm welcome from Aretha, a multi-lingual lady who was not only friendly and kind but also exceptionally knowledgeable about the entire history of the house. Her enthusiasm and expertise added immense value to the visit, and I believe she deserves recognition, perhaps even a pay raise, for the outstanding job she does. Bennet House is definitely a must-visit for those seeking a blend of art, history, and the soothing ambiance of the beach."

This estate is a time capsule. It’s nestled right in the heart of an ultra modern Fort Lauderdale seconds away from the beach but the minute you step inside the humongous gates, there are no two ways about it, you will be transported back in time. This place has been painstakingly and immaculately preserved by a very dedicated staff commemorating the sensibilities of an era bygone. Each room you visit is filled with memories of a time long forgotten time and is a shrine to the original owners. You can choose to sit through an introductory video of what this place is and after walk along the main courtyard and explore several rooms. Each section/place/room will have a person who would explain what the place is about and have a story to tell. It’s a must visit for any local or tourist, it does take us back to an era of a relatively virgin Fort Lauderdale unmarred by development, where times were a lot simpler, wholesome and where life was celebrated in a way that will we never see in this day and age.

I have wanted to go here for about 3 years, and I finally got to visit the Bonnet House & Museum. I visit Florida every year in November, and this visit was a great addition to my vacation. The museum was great and educational. In each room of the house, there was a person telling you about how the room was used, and in each room had artifacts from many years ago when the house was built. The house sits on a lot of property and has a lot of outside gardens, which are beautiful. I loved going to Bonnet House and Museum.

The Bonnet house and museum is a great place to visit to get a feel for old time living of the affluent in South Florida. Beautiful grounds, fantastic house for viewing....my favorite was the shell house/orchid room. There was a wedding planned for late afternoon, this would be a great venue for that and the reception. Guided tours available with very informative and pleasant guides or walk thru at your own leisure. Our 2nd visit.

A beautiful period house in Ft Lauderdale which is preserved as if its was still lived by the great artist owners. You probably need 2-3 hrs to see it properly. To die for courtyard garden. Highly recommend seeing it

Shopping mall

Shopping

The Galleria is one of the most popular shopping malls in Fort Lauderdale. It has upscale stores such as Neiman Marcus, Dillard's, Macy's, Ann Taylor, Victoria's Secret and Banana Republic. There is also a valet parking lot available.

This Mall has everything you need! Trust me.. Walked away with a Rolex and new Computer from Apple. I was in Rare form today! Again this Mall is Dope! Love it.

PoeticChef — Google review

This is a boring mall which scarce amount of people who were visiting. I regretted going because I skipped out on two museums and an outdoor mall to visit. There were some stores I would like to try the next time I come back. The run of the mill stores like Apple, American Eagle, Hollister. Etc. Nothing exciting or fun to window shop. The restrooms were confusing to find and had to go to the first floor and around some corners to get to. There was a delicious candy store on the second floor that was giving out free samples. If I had spending money I would have taken a few home with me. Unfortunately I was in such a hurry to leave I didn't get the store name. Won't be back unless coming back for those sweets in the candy store or the homemade soap store.

Good mall for this day and age. Lots of garage parking below the mall. Valet parking area up front even with all the construction at the street. Mostly full store listing but definitely feeling the mall decline trend. Food court only had three choices. Good layout and very clean. No foolishness from young kids or anything like that.

The K Green Show — Google review

Really nice and clean mall with lots of great things stores. Not too crowded with plenty of parking spaces. Would definitely love to spend more time here.

Great to see the Galleria Mall getting livelier and embracing the holiday spirit early. I started my gift shopping and was quite pleased. I visited some new stores for me like the Cutie Toy Store and bought some wine-related gifts at Cooper Hawk’s. Dillards was also a great stop. And the line at the Apple Store… long 🤩.

Beatriz "BJ" Prillaman — Google review

An excellent mall with great atmosphere and whole lot of fine outlets. Mall is well maintained and extremely clean. Even the restrooms are kept tidy. Food court is a bit small and have fewer restaurants. Mall is well laid out and has sufficient parking space.

Silver — Google review

The shopping mall was a decent place to spend the day. It had a good selection of stores and brands to choose from. The layout was convenient, making it easy to navigate. However, I found the mall to be quite crowded, especially during peak hours. The parking situation was also a bit chaotic. On the positive side, there were plenty of dining options and the mall was kept clean. Overall, it was an average shopping experience with room for improvement.

Sharky — Google review

The Galleria is a little of strange place because it is beautiful and in a great location near the beach with plenty of covered parking. But there are not many shops inside, some are closed and the food court has only 3 open places. Not a lot of traffic inside but I hope they inject a bit more life in it !

Luca Citterio — Google review

This mall is one of my favorites. Classy and has a lot of variety. Highly recommended.

yael cohen — Google review

The Galleria is highly rated on some websites I resarched such as Tripadvisor. However yelp gave it 4 stars and if I could give it 3.5 I think I would . But I think I have to give it a 3 star rating as I will explain. The thing is the mall itself is really unique because its very "linear" feeling. As in, it continues in one long hallway that has multiple "up and down" spots where the mall changes elevation. In contrast to other malls where they branch off in like 4 different directions. So this Galleria mall is easier to navigate but I think it lacks some choice stores and some of the "mall feeling".I like that the parking areas are named after fruits so that it is easier to remember than "C5" for example. Also there is a lot of empty space in the mall itself near plum parking area. This only makes the mall feel more "dead". If you park in that lot, you'll see what I mean when you go into the mall.I will say we came on a Sunday afternoon about 1.5 hours before closing and so our experience will be different than others. However I still feel fully capable of giving a quality review. We walked the whole mall, plus food court. Give the mall a shot, but perhaps have a plan B.

dylan krell — Google review

Great mall overall! Very clean place with a good selection of stores. My only complaint and I really hope this reaches the management of the galleria mall. Bring back the old food court. It was bustling with great choices and was busy. The original theme was like the Greek garden or Parthenon. Well lit and warm. Now it's darker and only has 2 or 3 choices to eat. It's not terrible but it hurt the mall, in my opinion. Location of the mall couldn't be better though!

Matthew fann — Google review

Very nice upscale mall with lots of shops to fill your every need. Clean, well lite, plenty of parking, and some good prime anchor stores. I enjoyed sitting outside dillards and watching shoppers. Recommend this mall.

Sam Benson — Google review

The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale provides a limited selection of dining options, which may not meet the expectations of all visitors. While there are a few eateries available, the choices are somewhat limited compared to other shopping centers in the area. This may leave some patrons feeling underwhelmed, especially those seeking a diverse culinary experience. However, the existing dining options are generally satisfactory in terms of quality and service.

Alisa M. — Google review

Nice and clean premises, yet the food court is quasi empty without many options. We shopped at Dillard's, where we were served professionally and rapidly. Pricey, but quality products and merchandises.

A Brideau — Google review

This mall in general is pretty small and gives off a creepy vibe. Many empty stores and the ones that are occupant are smaller than normal. The bathrooms aren’t clean either. The security guards will stare you down when walking past which was super uncomfortable each time. Overall woken recommend coming here unless it’s absolutely needed…

Adina Bovit — Google review

Visited this mall, after a flight delay at FLL. It's about a $30 ride by taxi. The food court is a little limited but the food they did have was first class. Limited number of stores but all very clean, well lit and I have to say Macys had some great deals. All in all a great place to go if you're stuck at the airport.
